Corey Latta MA, PhD, is a P-LPC who holds graduate degrees in philosophy, literature, and counseling. He is an educator and private practice therapist. Corey specializes in the connections between experiential and creative therapy, addiction recovery, and trauma processing. His focuses include couples therapy, family therapy, love and sex addiction, relationship issues, codependency, and trauma, which is at the root of it all. Corey’s ideal client has come to the painful awareness that something is off. Life has been derailed by a host of intruders like grief, anxiety, depression, addiction, family drama, relational conflict, heartbreak, abuse, and trauma. What once worked just to survive no longer works. They’ve come to the awareness that they must choose 1) the hard path of change, or 2) the even more difficult path of doing the same thing again and again while expecting different results. The clients, whether individual, couples, or families, who see the most change are willing to bring the pain of their past into the work of the present so that they might live in hope of their future.
Corey is person centered. He aims to meet the client where they are, regardless of how low, hopeless, or scary. Corey employs an eclectic approach, including narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy, EMDR, cognitive reframing, principles of recovery, creative approaches, and somatic therapy.
