Mary Allen works with women and couples in a wide range of areas. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University and Reformed Theological Seminary with a Masters in Counseling. In working with clients, she offers a professional relationship built on trust, empathy, congruence, unconditional positive regard and is non-judgmental. Research has shown a strong therapeutic alliance leads to positive client outcome. She believes in using empirically researched approaches and interventions while tailoring them to the needs of the individual client. She strives to work with her clients to establish goals and objectives with the ultimate goal of working with them to help facilitate change and a healthier lifestyle. Each season of life brings new opportunities and challenges. She believes everyone is a lifetime learner and, at times, needs help in working through the different challenges of life.
Mary Allen is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and has trained in Prepare and Enrich Pre-Marital Counseling and Level 1 Gottman Counseling. She also has trained in Level 1 Trauma Training. She has been married for 35 years, has three adult children and both of her parents have passed away. Counseling is her second career. Prior to counseling, she was an elementary school teacher.
